Materials;
Worsted weight yarn (Less than a skein)
I hook
Rnd1: Ch 4 , 11 dc in 4th ch from hook. Sl st to top of ch 3 (12 st)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around.
Join with sl st to top of ch 3 (24 st)
Rnd 3:Ch 3*, 2dc in next st, dc in next, repeat from * around. Sl st to top of ch 3 (36 st)
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st,* dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3 (48 st)
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same st, * dc in each of next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3 (60 st)
If you need a larger hat, add a row increasing in established pattern. For a smaller hat, leave off rnd 5
Rnd 6-14: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 15: Ch 3 *, dc in next 6 st, dec over next 2 dc, repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3
Rnd 16: Edging-* sc, ch 3, 2dc in same st, skip 2 dc, repeat from * around . Join with sl st to first sc
Fold up last 2 rows; attatch yarn between any 2 dc, sc between dcs all around. Fasten off.
This hat can be worked entirely in one color or in stripes using as many colors as you want to
